The unique character of the 911 Sport Classic is evident at first sight in the newly developed double-dome roof. While this model is based on the rear-wheel-drive Carrera S, it features the wider rear body of the Carrera 4S, with its rear fenders swollen by 1.73-inches, allowing for the wider rear track. A striking SportDesign front apron with unique spoiler lip and the fixed ducktail rear spoiler (a visual reference to the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7) round off the unmistakable look of the 911 Sport Classic.

Porsche shared more information about the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid, which will debut in 2010. Using a parallel full hybrid design with the electric motor between the combustion engine and the transmission, Porsche engineers have been able to drive at speeds up to 86 mph without at all using the combustion engine. The Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid uses a supercharged Audi 3.0-liter V6 engine with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI), 333 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque from 2,900 to 5,300 rpm. It is mated with 52-horsepower three-phase synchronous electric motor that produces up to 221 lb-ft of torque and also acts as an alternator, and the combined power units are joined to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Displacing 2.9-litres, the engine of the Boxster develops 255 bhp (188 kW) in the Boxster, an increase of 10 horsepower over the prior 2.7-litre model. The 3.4-litre power unit in the Boxster S now features Direct Fuel Injection, and delivers 310 bhp (228 kW), up by 15 bhp. An impressive power-to-weight ratio imbues the two Boxster models with optimum driving dynamics. For example, with the new six speed manual transmission fitted as standard, the Boxster accelerates from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.9 seconds. And the Boxster S, when fitted with PDK transmission and Launch Control (featured in the optional Sports Chrono Package Plus), accelerates from 0-62mph (100km/h) in 5.0 seconds.

The Cayman now has an engine displacing 2.9-litres, which develops 265 bhp (195 kW), an increase by 20 horsepower over the prior 2.7-litre model. The 3.4-litre power unit in the Cayman S now features Direct Fuel Injection, and delivers 320 bhp (235 kW), up by 25 bhp. These developments see the engines fitted to the Cayman and Cayman S coupes offering more horsepower than those in the Boxster roadster. This move emphasises the sports driving orientation of the Cayman and further differentiates the coupe.

When the Porsche Cayenne debuted a few years back, it seemed like sacrilege. A Porsche SUV was as off-putting to car enthusiasts as a Spago hot dog would be to food connoisseurs. Why would this maker of magnificent sports cars stoop so low as to make a truck? The answer is best expressed in dollar signs -- the Cayenne's sales success has netted the company a fortune. However, it's also a vehicle that fully lives up to the Porsche name, even if it doesn't fit the classic mold. The 2009 Porsche Cayenne may be a heavy SUV, but its unexpected levels of acceleration and handling are attributes that even the crankiest enthusiast can appreciate.

Along with the restyling of Porsche's first and only (and best selling model) Cayenne SUV, for 2008, came a new trim, the GTS, bringing the total to four. The GTS fits just below the range-topping Cayenne Turbo in the range and is the sportiest SUV in the lineup, sacrificing the off-road abilities of the other three trims for superior on-road manners. Power for the GTS comes from an upgraded 4.8 liter V8 that makes 405 horsepower at 6,500 rpm along with 369 lb-ft at 3,500 rpm, up 20 hp on the S. The engine features direct injection, variable intake camshaft phasing and valve lift switching and a lofty 12.5:1 compression ratio.
