Exhaust Heat-Recovery System

Electronically Controlled Braking (ECB) with Regenerative Braking System

Pairing ingenuity with efficiency, regenerative braking converts braking energy into electricity to recharge the batteries, while the enhanced Electronically Controlled Braking (ECB) System is lighter, smaller and uses up to 29% less power than our previous regenerative braking system.

Lexus Hybrid System

The 35 MPG rated [1] HS Hybrid is over 50% [2] more fuel efficient than Near Luxury competitors, and the most fuel-efficient Lexus ever.

It delivers excellent driving performance while earning a Super Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEVII) emissions rating utilizing regular 87 octane gasoline.

Electric Components

In addition to improving fuel consumption compared to conventional hydraulic power assist systems, the air conditioning compressor relies on electricity rather than the gasoline engine, Electric Power Steering improves responsiveness and feel, while the electric motor's cooling oil pump only operates when needed at high temperatures.

Driving Modes

In addition to its Normal driving mode, the HS Hybrid offers drivers the ability to choose between ECO, Power and EV modes [3].

Shift by Wire

By removing the physical link to the transmission, Shift by Wire allowed the designers of the HS 250h to free up interior space that would have been taken up by the shifter.
